Hanover PoliceThe Hanover Police Service with assistance from the Coroner’s Office are now investigating the death of a third person in the Town of Hanover this year that is suspected of being related to a fentanyl overdose.

On April 3rd 2019, the Grey County Paramedics responded to a residence in Hanover for an unresponsive 31-year-old female. The female was transported to the Hanover and District Hospital and later transferred to the Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre in Owen Sound for treatment.

The 31-year-old female remained hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit at the Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre in Owen Sound, however, she never regained consciousness and has since died.

A post mortem was conducted in London and Hanover Police Service investigators are awaiting toxicology reports to confirm the cause of death.

The Hanover Police Service are continuing to urge the public not to be tempted to take any illegal drugs. It is impossible to know the exact components of the substances, where they have come from or what effects they may have on any individual.
