opp graphic fullOn April 27, 2019 at approximately 8:13 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a break-in at a rural property on Concession 8 in the Township of Chatsworth.

Upon arriving at the scene, police observed a pick-up truck entering the laneway. The officer spoke with the driver of the vehicle who identified himself as the caller. An odor of alcohol was detected during the conversation. The driver provided a sample of his breath into an approved screening device which registered a "fail". He was arrested and transported to the Markdale detachment for further breath tests.

As a result, the 56-year old male from Lakeshore, Ontario was charged with operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) contrary to the Criminal Code.

His driver's licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

A court date has been scheduled for May 9, 2019 in Owen Sound.
