It was a tough weekend for the Baysox, despite an incredible turnout for the Bailey Durocher Memorial Game.

Saturday, June 24, saw the New Lowell Knights take place in the First Annual Bailey Durocher Memorial Game against the Owen Sound Baysox, taking the match 8-3.

Both teams took turns taking the lead before the Knights pitching shut down an impressive Baysox lineup.

The Creemore Padres took field for the second part of a double header, winning 13-5.

Nate Kramer pitched well for the Sox while Kirk Gibson kept his hot bat swinging at the plate in the team's strong first-game fight versus the Knights.

Then versus the Padres closing out the double-header, Baysox Player of the Game and Allstar First Baseman Bryan Post sent TWO balls way over the trees tying himself for the league lead in home runs.

It was a great and successful weekend of baseball and we Baysox would love to see the Baysox Faithful out in full force again.

Next up us Sunday, July 2, in Mansfield against the Cubs.

And then join us Thursday, July 6, at Tom Williams Park when the Clarksburg Blues visit town.

An enormous thank you to the Durocher family for joining the Baysox family at the diamond this weekend, supporting the game we all love, and for delivering the hardest thrown strike of the day.

Bailey is always missed but we’re honoured to play the game for him.

Also a great thank you to the wonderful crew at RogersTV for helping us make the day as special as it was.
