cubs for cancer jerseyThe Owen Sound Attack are set to play a pair of divisional games this weekend, with the team's Cubs For Cancer taking centre stage around the OHL on Saturday, Nov. 25.

But before the Bayshore Boys will don specialty jerseys to be auctioned off in support of the Canadian Cancer Society's Bluewater Office, they must head due south for a meeting against the Knights in London.

Squaring off for the 3rd time this year, Owen Sound and London has each won a game thus far, although the Knights own a three points-to-two advantage over the Attack because Owen Sound's win on Oct. 15 came via overtime.

Thanks to their win on Wednesday night, the Attack will begin the weekend with a 13-7-0-2 record, good for 28 points and 2nd in the Midwest Division. Rebounding after a slow start, London's 10-11-2-0 record and 22 points places them in the 4th in the CHL's toughest division.

The last time the squads met was on Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Bayshore, a game that the visitors claimed by a score of 4-1.

Looking for revenge over their fiercest rival, Owen Sound's Nick Suzuki leads his teammates into the game with 38 points in 22 affairs this season, including a team high 14 goals. Fresh off of a two goal effort in a 3-2 win over Niagara on Wednesday night, Aidan Dudas also sits at 14 goals in what is looking like a breakout sophomore campaign for the Parry Sound native.

London will counterpunch with St. Louis Blues prospect Robert Thomas doing the heavy lifting. His 32 points on the year is tied with Attack rearguard Sean Durzi for 6th in the OHL. Knights' second leading scorer, Cliff Pu has 28 points on the year, one less than Attack playmaker Kevin Hancock.

Fans can listen to Friday night's game, a 7:30pm start, live on Terry's Trailer Service/Kia of Owen Sound Bear Radio on 560 CFOS, or watch on Rogers Local 53.

Following the game, the Attack will return home to square off against the Guelph Storm for the 1st time in the 2017-18 season.

Also a 7:30pm start, Saturday night is the 1st ever Cubs For Cancer game, a fundraising initiative that sees the Attack and Canadian Cancer Society's Bluewater Office partner in an effort to raise funds and awareness for paediatric cancer patients. Through a fundraising hair cut and a celebrity serve night at Boston Pizza Owen Sound, the Attack and CCS Bluewater have already raised over $28,000 for the event.

Saturday night's game will see the Bears wear specialty jerseys, that will be auctioned off immediately following the game by auctioneer and Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker.

Also taking place on Saturday night will be a bucket pass, a chuck-a-puck and a silent auction that will take place in the south concourse.
