Renaissance Self PortraitThe Owen Sound Artists’ Co-op is pleased to host the 11th  Annual High School Juried Show for senior secondary students in Grey and Bruce Counties.   This exhibit will be showing for the month of May.

Sunday, March 5th, between 2pm and 3pm there will be a ceremony presenting 23 awards to these exceptional students for their 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional art.  The public will be able to vote for that special piece that speaks to them, and People’s Choice will be given at the end of the month.

This diverse exhibit allows us to see into the creative minds of our youth, and allows students to show their work in a gallery setting.   Over 90 works of art were entered and are on display.  This is an opportunity to reward students for excellence in arts and crafts and encourage confidence, and a future in the arts.

Over $800 in cash and prizes will be awarded, donations from local artists, local businesses and community groups, including the Retired Women Teachers of Ontario.

“Each year it is like Christmas unwrapping all the submitted art,” Artists’ Co-op manager Morag Budgeon states, “and I am never disappointed!  Nearly every Secondary School in Grey and Bruce Counties is represented, and I am thrilled with the turnout.”

The Owen Sound Artists’ Co-op is open seven days a week, at 942 2nd Avenue East.  Information is available on our website at www.artistcoop.ca
