"How do you sleep at night?" was the parting shot from a woman leaving the Bluewater District School Board meeting Monday night. The mother wondered how the trustees could live with their decision to begin a review which could end in school closures in the Owen Sound area.
The motion at Monday's meeting was to "commence an accommodation review on the Owen Sound Area Group of Schools", which includes all its elementary and secondary schools in the city, plus ...

"As we begin," the Tai Chi instructor says, "stand with your feet parallel, shoulder width apart. Make sure your weight is centered."
At this moment, I realize how hard it is to stand. There are so many angles for the rest of the body even with both feet on the ground. My weight is more to the right or the left, and I have to move my hips sideways to find the centre. Then, I find that my weight is back on my heels, or forward on my toes not the centre of the foot. One of Quebec's most respected fiddlers and singers will be in Owen Sound with the trad-folk trio Mil on November 7.
Claude Méthé, with guitarist Dana Whittle and flute and whistle player Denise Levac, will co-host an all-instruments Quebec dance repertoire workshop for area musicians that afternoon at The Harmony Centre, then play for the regular Fiddlefern Country Dancers contra dance that evening at nearby St. George's church hall, with dance callers Frank Francalanza and Lorraine Sutton.
Méthé, also a singer and prolific composer, is among the most influential Quebec fiddlers of his generation. His career began in the 1970s and 80s with Le Rêve du Diable, a group he co-founded and for which he received honours from the Québec National Assembly in 2012. Arguably Quebec's first commercially successful trad band, Le Rêve du Diable was indirectly responsible for spawning and influencing many more to come.
Méthé's solo album L'Amant confesseur was nominated for trad Canadian folk album of the year. Guitarist, singer and songwriter Dana Whittle, originally from

By the time I arrived at Miller's campaign headquarters the room was crowded and already buzzing with...
