In response to the Hub's question ...what shall we do to encourage people to come to Owen Sound?
What I would like to see happen, there is so much. .. I would have liked to see the rails stay, however they are gone and very unlikely they will be back. I do agree we need to stop putting large eyesore buildings on the waterfront. It should be for all to enjoy. Since manufacturing is not growing but some is still here, we need to make sure they stay! Let's embrace what we do have.
What about a ten day harbour festival two weekends and the full week in between? Get the tall ships in. Incorporate all of downtown; perhaps the shopkeepers would dress and decorate in the style of the early days when the shores were booming here - buskers of all kinds, caricatures - there are enormous possibilities.

On January 18 The Hub published my letter to the editor describing an incident that took place on my farm two days earlier. Without permission, a party of coyote hunters accessed the property by snowmobile following dogs wearing collars fitted with GPS tracking devices. They shot a coyote in the woods just 150 meters from where I happened to be walking with my dog at the time. Neither of us knew the other was near. I was, I think quite understandably, angry that the hunters had trespassed on my property and the more so since they had effectively put my life in danger.

Your father and my father, the late Hon. Eugene Forsey, were friends. And so many of us trusted you. When you came to office we had hope. To say that I am disappointed about the latest news of electoral reform being abandoned is an understatement. People's democratic rights and where they choose to put their votes is something to be respected and not taken lightly.
