Two weeks ago, we raised the progressive Pride flag over Owen Sound and the City wished everyone a “Happy Pride Month”. The words spoken at the event were much clearer about the experience of our 2S-LGBTQQIAP+ community.

naloxoneGrey Bruce Public Health is urging people to exercise extreme caution when using unregulated street drugs after receiving reports of four suspected opioid overdoses – including a fatal overdose – over a recent six-day period.

An individual in their 50s died Wednesday, June 21, of a suspected fentanyl poisoning, while non-fatal poisinings were reported between June 16 and 21.

Each of these occurred in the Owen Sound area ...

BWDSBexcellence23The Regular Meeting of the Board on June 20, 2023 featured the return of a popular Bluewater District School Board (BWDSB) year-end tradition.  Special guests were joined by family members and friends at the BWDSB Education Centre for the presentation of the 2023 Awards of Excellence honouring the many outstanding contributions made to our local education system. 

norwaymapleFive Norway maples that are currently growing in the Inglis Falls Arboretum located at 237897 Inglis Falls Road, Owen Sound are scheduled to be removed this Friday and Saturday (June 23 & 24, 2023). These trees are being removed by an arborist to reduce the number of seeds that are being spread to nearby areas.

hydrantflushingStaff from the Environmental Services team have begun flushing fire hydrants as part of their annual maintenance program within urban Meaford. Flushing will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday to Thursday and is estimated to be completed by October.
