racingThis Saturday, May 21, 2016 Full Throttle Motor Speedway kicked off the 2016 season. The Mini Trucks, Junior Late Models, Fun Stocks, Mini Stocks, Street Stocks, and the Crazy Trains were all part of a full schedule for the event.

The event kicked off with a ceremony for Tim and Donna Tolton who were married on the front stretch of the track 25 years ago.

car-race-fullOn April 16th Full Throttle Motor Speedway came alive again with the second annual Sprint Into Spring. The Fun Stocks and the Mini Stocks were on the schedule to battle it out for three 20 lap features each. Two exhibition races were also held at Sprint Into Spring as well for the Figure 8's and the Demo Derby.

The Fun Stocks kicked off the day with 13 cars taking the green flag in feature one. This race was dominated by the #82 of Kyle Neumeiste from Stratford with him leading 16 out of 20 laps. tobermorytrailrace-smallPeninsula Adventure Sports Association (PASA), in partnership with Parks Canada, Blue Heron Co., and the Tobermory Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the inaugural Tobermory Trail Race Weekend on September 23-25, 2016.

The festival features a Trail Marathon with both solo and relay categories, taking place on Saturday, September 24th. The trail marathon will stretch from downtown Tobermory to the heart of Bruce Peninsula National Park at Cyprus Lake, and then back again for a downtown finish in front of the Tobermory Brewing Co. There will also be a half-marathon (21km) solo option, which with the rugged terrain of the Bruce as its racecourse will be a considerable achievement for any runner.

There will also be a spectacular trail run Sunday morning: The inaugural Flowerpot Island 5K will include transportation to & from the scenic island in Fathom Five National Marine Park by one of Blue Heron's tour boats, as well as a sunrise breakfast served by the Friends of Bruce District Parks Association at Flowerpot Island lightstation.
