Led by women from Nawash and Saugeen First Nations a group of ‘Water Walkers’ is following the boundaries of the traditional territories of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation. Those boundaries include the Nottawasaga watershed in the east, the Maitland watershed in the south, up the coast of Lake Huron in the West to the tip of the Saugeen Bruce Peninsula in the north and eastward back to the Nottawasaga River.

The second annual Walk for Courage is happening on Saturday July 15, 2023. The Walk for Courage was born out of the devastating loss of Jeff Courage, a former Owen Sound resident, WHSS student and staff member of Owen Sound Fitness and Training to suicide in 2019 at the age of 21 while attending Western University.
The walk was created to encourage all of us to take steps to a better tomorrow.
Municipality of Meaford Council took a key step yesterday to help ensure TC Energy considers the community’s best interests for its proposed pumped storage project on Department of National Defence lands by approving the hiring of two consulting companies to provide professional expertise. At the meeting on Monday, July 10, 2023, Council approved the hiring of StrategyCorp and the Ainley Group.
