After successfully concluding their 22-23 season, Owen Sound Little Theatre (OSLT) and The Roxy Theatre are thrilled to announce their highly anticipated 63rd season. The OSLT/The Roxy is committed to delivering exceptional entertainment, educational opportunities, and unforgettable experiences to the Owen Sound and Grey/Bruce community, while showcasing the incredible local talent.

"We have an exciting 23-24 season planned at The Roxy," stated Marcia Cunningham, Executive Director. "OSLT is bringing back the popular One-Act plays, allowing new and returning directors and actors to gain experience on a smaller scale. Our playbill features three productions encompassing classic drama, poignant comedy, and a lively musical. The Roxy Presents Series offers a diverse mix of comedy, circus acts, film screenings, and music performances by original artists and inspired tributes. Moreover, our Roxy Young Company is once again offering camps, classes, and a fantastic musical production. Additionally, we are pleased to announce the return of Roxy Star Company, a program catering to adults with complex needs."

OSLT 23-24 Season and Flex Passes: Flex Passes are now available for purchase, offering an exclusive Early-Bird pricing until July 15, 2023. The Flex Pass provides patrons with three flexible tickets that can be used for any combination of the three full OSLT productions. Whether attending one show per ticket or mixing and matching, the Flex Pass offers exceptional value. Please note that the Flex Pass does not include tickets to Bite-Sized Theatre. However, Flex Pass holders and OSLT Members will receive a $5.00 discount on Bite-Sized Theatre tickets. (Regular Flex-Pass pricing applies after July 15).

Bite-Sized Theatre: One Act Plays. September 14-16, 2023 at 7:30 pm

This series of short plays provides audiences with an evening of unique directing styles and captivating stories. "Finger Food," directed by Sheilah Spurr, explores the sparks that fly between a Method hand model and a hand-obsessed food photographer during an ad shoot. "Please, No Flowers," directed by Gerrard Morrison, features two female ghosts reflecting on their lives and choices while lying in coffins at a funeral home. In "A Marriage Proposal," directed by Val Underwood, a simple proposal turns into a chaotic and amusing event.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. November 9-11 and 15-18, 2023 at 7:30 pm. November 12 at 2 pm.

Directed by Corry Lapointe, this powerful stage adaptation of Ken Kesey's celebrated novel explores the oppressive world of a mental institution, challenging authority and celebrating the indomitable human spirit.

The Ladies Foursome. February 8-10 and 14-17, 2024 at 7:30 pm. February 11 at 2 pm.

Directed by Bill Murphy, Norm Foster's "The Ladies Foursome" brings together four women for a round of golf, revealing humorous and heartfelt conversations that expose deep-seated secrets and unexpected connections.

Something Rotten! April 11-13, 18-20, and 24-27, 2024 at 7:30 pm. April 14 at 2 pm.

Directed by Kathleen Cassidy, with musical direction by Gord McConachie-Anderson and choreography by Paula Mercer, "Something Rotten!" is a hilarious musical comedy set in the Renaissance era. Follow two brothers as they strive to outshine Shakespeare and invent the world's first musical.

The Roxy Presents Series, made possible by funding from the Canada Arts Presentation Fund, promises a lineup filled with laughter, music, film, and much more. The series includes a variety of captivating events:

  • "Slocan Ramblers" - December 1
  • "Choir! Choir! Choir!" - December 3
  • "Maggie's Wake: Spirit of the Season" - December 9
  • "The Mudmen" - January 19
  • "Acrobat: U2 Tribute" - February 23
  • "Owen Sound Reel Festival with the TOM" - March 2
  • "Shipyard Kitchen: Tom Thomson's Wake" - May 3
  • "Classics Albums Live - Led Zeppelin II" - May 4

The Roxy Young Company, supported in part by the Ontario Trillium Foundation and The Leflar Foundation, along with Kiwanis Owen Sound, kicks off with two sold-out Summer Camps. Don't miss the Winnie The Pooh Kids camp shows on July 14 and 28. RYC is also offering Act 1 and Act 2 theatre classes, providing comprehensive training in all aspects of theater, both on and off the stage. Act 1 runs from September to December 2023, while Act 2 runs from January to April 2024. The season concludes with a production of "The Addams Family Young@Part," directed by Grace McRae, a one-hour version of the popular Broadway musical. Tickets and registration for these shows and programs are available for purchase.

The Roxy Star Company, a theatre program for adults living with complex needs, including intellectual, developmental, or physical disabilities, supported by the Ontario Trillium Foundation, is entering its second season in 23-24. Stay tuned for further updates and information.

In addition to the exciting lineup mentioned above, The Roxy Theatre will continue to host various promoters, community groups, and artists who will rent the venue for their shows.
