On September 10 this year, Clarence Solomon, a member of Chippewas of Nawash at Neyaashiinigmiing, was identified as the victim of a fatal shooting four days earlier on Saugeen First Nation. The OPP had arrested and charged 22 year old Austin Cubitt with Second Degree Murder.

I appreciate the feedback to my article (below) on recent city council proceedings. My comments were shut down at council and I was not permitted to challenge Mr. O’Leary’s conduct apart from an extended complaint process through a complaints office. I have regretfully now triggered that process.

We have an issue with bullying. Councillor O’Leary has repeatedly engaged in public and personal attacks on his peers, in derogatory put downs of other councillors.

Work started on the 10th Street bridge in October of 2019 and is slated for completion in the spring of 2021, with the bridge open to traffic in December 2020. As with other bridges in the City that are built and/or replaced the 10th Street Bridge needs a dedication.
