The Georgian Bay Folk Society logo is popularly known as 'the man under the tree' and was inspired by the image of David Essig tuning up at the first Summerfolk Music and Crafts Festival. David will return for this year's 40th anniversary Summerfolk and we're throwing a photography contest in June to celebrate.
To participate submit a photograph that contains at least one (1) musician, a tree, and some water with your name and "contest" in the subject line to [email protected]. Contestants are encouraged to be creative. The Georgian Bay Folk Society will post the pictures on Facebook beginning on June 16th and the three photos with the most 'likes' as of 5pm on June 30th will win.

Owen Sound Transit is extending service until 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 11th during the TORONTO 2015 Torch Relay Community Celebration. The event, taking place from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre South Parking Lot, marks the arrival of the Pan Am Torch Relay in Owen Sound.
All normal transit fares will apply for the special extended services after 6 p.m. Buses for all four routes will leave from the Bayshore Community Centre at 8:30 p.m. The Bus Terminal will close at 8 p.m. Those patrons requiring specialized transit services should make their arrangements in the usual manner.

At the end of last week you may have found, here on the Hub, an article about my efforts to raise some funds for the Bluewater division of the Canadian Cancer Society.
I am happy to report your success in this endeavour to the extent that you have donated over $400 to the cause.
If you had intended to be part of that but hadn't managed to squeeze that into your understandably busy schedule, there is good news. Well the campaign has officially started. Jim Merriam has stopped praising mules and started talking up Tories.
In a recent article in the Owen Sound Sun Times he claimed the heartland of Ontario for his Party, including Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound. The riding is apparently Larry Miller's (and therefore Mr Harper's) to control "as long as he wants it."
If, as Mr Merriam insists, Ontario's rural heartland gives Mr Harper an advantage, it may be the only one he has left. After all it is Mr Harper himself who:

Her family has been waiting for 10 years and 11 months.
On April 19 Delores moved from the list of missing Aboriginal women to the very long list of the dead.
