On Tuesday, March 31, the public is invited to the launch of MIX WELL: A POETRY ANTHOLOGY at the Roxy Theatre at 7 pm. Thirty-eight area poets were asked to reflect on the subject of "food" - the theme of this April's National Poetry Month. Owen Sound's Poet Laureate Terry Burns says the result is “an eclectic and charming collection which should be on everyone's bookshelf.”
Burns will be at Owen Sound Council on Monday evening presenting the volume to the Owen Sound Library as part of the Mayor's City Poetry Challenge, initiated by Calgary mayor Naheed Nenshi to raise awareness of poetry in people's communities. Proceeds from the book, after printing costs, will be divided between the Poet Laureate Program, SOUNDS at Market , a monthly poetry and music event, and the Owen Sound Farmers' Market itself where copies will be available all month.
