"I am excited to view these new exhibitions at the Tom Thomson Art Gallery. The TOM’s Collection is most impressive and a shining jewel of our Community. I encourage everyone to visit the Gallery and explore these exhibitions," says Mayor Ian Boddy.

Exhibition Overview:
Alan Glicksman: The Process of Becoming
The Process of Becoming is a mid-career survey of Alan Glicksman’s work. It documents his ongoing fascination with mark-marking through richly layered and bold graphic compositions that pulsate with frenetic energy. His images possess the same carefree expressiveness that we associate with children’s work, and are wrought with psychological tension.

Drawn In: A Selection of Works from the Gallery’s Collection
Joan Hawksbridge and David Taylor have curated an exhibition of drawings selected from the 360 works by 80 different artists in the Gallery’s Collection. Their selections vary in subject matter, material, and approach, highlighting the rich potential of the medium. Despite the diversity of methods, what unites these works is a sense of immediacy that is unlike other mediums. Drawings are often where an artist’s creative energy and imagination first find visual form. We invite you to be drawn in.

"Art helps us to better understand ourselves and our world, to appreciate the moment, and to navigate challenging terrain. These exhibitions offer imaginative spaces for introspection, exploring psychologies of form, place, time, and desire. We are here for you and we hope you will visit," sys Aidan Ware, Director and Chief Curator, Tom Thomson Art Gallery.
