GBS concertFree digital concert this Saturday night, from the Georgian Bay Symphony. The final concert of the season will be made available, through YouTube. “We all know how uplifting music can be and the Symphony wants to do its part to raise our community’s spirits and remind us that there are still great things happening right here in Grey Bruce” says GBS Manager David Adair.

The concert features music everyone can enjoy and relax to such as works by Vivaldi, Mozart and popular movements from Bizet’s Carmen. The concert begins at 7pm Saturday night (May 15) and is about an hour long. The Symphony encourages everyone to grab their favourite snacks and beverage, and get comfortable on the couch. To enjoy the concert visit the Georgian Bay Symphony YouTube channel and look for the Premiere event “GBS Francois and Friends”. It will start to stream at 6:45 on Saturday night with the concert beginning at 7pm.

The Georgian Bay Symphony is proud to be the only community orchestras in Canada to produce a season of virtual concerts and wants to share its hard work and excitement with everyone.

GBS concert 2It has been a long year since the orchestra produced its first digital concert last May. “All of our GBS musicians, conductor, business manager and board members have all worked hard this year to produce a digital season of beautiful music. We are thrilled to offer our community the final concert of the season. Enjoy!” says Nancy MacDonald GBS Board Chair. GBS Music Director Francois Koh added “Giving six full time virtual concerts is a huge achievement for all of us. Bravo to everyone!”

The lessons learned and the confidence built by all the members of the Symphony will help launch it into the next season. Music Director Francois Koh is very excited about what’s next. “This fall, the GBS will present a hybrid season consisting of virtual and live concerts with beautiful repertoire. I’m looking forward to meeting all of you at the East Ridge. Please stay tuned!”

The Symphony invites everyone to gather Saturday night t(May 15) at 7pm and enjoy a great concert.
