laviolette-fullLocal musical hero Richard Laviolette returns to Owen Sound for a concert at the River Café, August 15th at 7:30pm -- suggested donation $10. Laviolette was raised on music and never kicked the habit. As the child of a prominent Grey-Bruce musical duo Darrell and Marie Laviolette, his childhood was steeped in country music played at family gatherings and local jamborees. Laviolette's own musical career sprouted out of the Guelph music scene and is marked by near constant collaboration and experimentation, spanning genres from folk, to country, and rock and roll.

His upcoming album, "Taking The Long Way Home" will be his second release on You've Changed Records expected to come out in 2016. It will return to the country roots he began to explore on "All Of Your Raw Materials", pay tribute to family members, and showcase the raw and clever songwriting that has won him fans across the country. On the 15th he will be playing a selection new and old songs, including some tracks from his upcoming release.
