Time to get on the road to Summerfolk! This is an amazing opportunity to be heard and seen by an international crowd.

The Youth Discoveries Program was created to give musicians between the ages of 14- 22 the experience of playing a major folk festival. It also helps to foster a sense of community amongst the up and coming. Winners from preliminary rounds advance to the Discoveries final showcase in Owen Sound.

At the Final Discoveries Showcase, five acts are selected to perform at the Summerfolk Music & Crafts Festival. They are featured in Friday night’s Discoveries Concert at the Festival and also participate in workshop sessions during the weekend.

The locatons preliminaries for 2016 have yet to be decided, but will be held on successive Sundays in April ( April 3, 10, 17, 24).

Previous winners like Cody Zevenbergen, Amy Carson Hunter, Bekah and Missy, and Ben Turcotte are pursuing musical careers and credit Youth Discoveries with giving them the boost they needed early in their career.
