Rick Fines and Suzie Vinnick at Massie Hall

It doesn't get any more exciting than that! Come to the charming hamlet of Massie on June 11th for a Double Blues! concert featuring this powerful duo. Suzie and Rick recently released their first critically acclaimed album together, Nothing Halfway. We sincerely hope it will not be their last. Rick's genre-busting music blends "warm-hearted blues, juke joint folk and dockside soul". Suzie brings to her performances a "supple and expressive" voice and "fierce and delicate" playing on her trusted Larrivee guitar Mabel. They have each garnered their share of awards and critical acclaim on solo albums and playing with other musicians. Together they're even more impressive. In a live concert they will be spectacular!

Massie Hall, a historic stone building that once housed a one-room schoolhouse but now serves as our community centre, has seen some great concerts in the past decade. Suzie's been here before and she's looking forward to a return visit. Jory Nash came in April delighting the audience with his offbeat lyrics, unique music and many hats. Other past musicians included the Becketts and their foot-stompin', crowd-pleasin' family entertainment, Coco Love Alcorn, Samantha Martin & Delta Sugar, David Sereda, Wendell Ferguson, Matthew Barber, and Trevor and Tara Mackenzie, to mention just a few.

Are you looking for a memorable evening out in a historic venue in a picture-perfect hamlet with good company, tasty homemade cookies and great music? Put Massie Hall, www.massiecommunitycentre.org, on your calendar for one or more concerts this year.
