jellyBilly Bishop Home & Museum Presents "Stirring Up Memories". This is a 2 part Jelly Making Workshop with instructor Judy Ruhl.

As part of our "Crafting Community" project, we have created "Stirring Up Memories" which will deal with crafts such as cooking, baking, and preserving. These are our first two confirmed workshops in that genre.

In this workshop Judy will lead you in the basics making apple jelly and apple butter on September 29th. She will have you go through the steps from separating the juice and pulp of the apples to making the jelly and the butter.

On October 18th, the focus will be on grapes - squishing and squashing (no feet please!) and ending up with grape jelly for your morning toast.

You do not need to bring anything with you, but you will go home with a jar each of apple jelly, apple butter and grape jelly.

This workshop will be documented and an exhibit will be mounted in March 2017 highlighting dishes created during the project with photos and/or video.

If you cannot attend both workshops, you can register for them individually.

The jelly making workshop will be held at Seasons Owen Sound at 1389 16th Street East, Owen Sound on Thursday September 29th and Tuesday, October 18th from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

The workshop is free, but pre-registration is required.

Please contact the Billy Bishop Home & Museum 519-371-0031 or email to [email protected] to register or if you have any questions.
