Spring performing arts programs in Owen Sound kick off at the beginning of March.

Sandcastle Theatre offers a variety of programs in theatre and music theatre that inspire youth to have fun, build confidence and let their imagination soar while they collaborate and create.

Classes for ages 5-18 will be held Monday and Wednesday evenings in Owen Sound beginning March 6. Participants will prepare scenes and musical numbers to present in a final performance for friends, family, and students from local schools.

Sandcastle Theatre is offering spring programming in Owen Sound, Saugeen Shores, Meaford, and Collingwood, with performances for each location in June 2017. "We believe that every individual has incredible creative potential if they are provided with a sandcastlekidssupportive environment, empowered to contribute their unique ideas and perspectives and encouraged to take risks and meet challenges," says Sandcastle Theatre's artistic director, Stephanie Fowler. "Theatre has the ability to do so much more than entertain, while providing a positive experience for both our performers and our audiences."

Sandcastle Theatre was established in 2002 to offer young people in Grey-Bruce the opportunity to experience engaging theatre programs and performances. Since 2002, artistic director Stephanie Fowler has worked with hundreds of young people in communities throughout the region and has brought performances to thousands more. Stephanie Fowler, Jackie Rose Brown, and Monica Davis will be instructing Owen Sound's programs, bringing their combined talents and collaborative energy to the stage once again.
