Interro Quartet Celebrate Mother's Day with an afternoon of chamber music with Sebastian Ostertag and the Interro Quartet this May 14th at 2:00pm at the Harmony Centre Owen Sound. This event will support the programs of Orchestra North Owen Sound, which brings together musicians from Grey-Bruce and beyond for a week of music making in the heart of the Scenic City. Concert admission is by donation and highlights will include Tchaikovsky String Quartet No.1, as well as music by Haydn Abigail Richardson-Shulte, and Queen!

Interro Quartet combines passionate performances with a curiosity to explore new sounds and venues in chamber music. The group's repertoire includes works of classical music giants, as well as new compositions by emerging and established Canadian composers. Featuring award-winning graduates of University of Toronto, the Interro Quartet includes violinists, Steve Koh and Adam Despinic, violist Maxime Despax, and cellist Sebastian Ostertag. Members of Interro Quartet are avid educators and clinicians, dedicated to supporting education programs that encourage new ways for artists and listeners to share, experience, and incorporate chamber music into their daily lives.

Orchestra North Owen Sound provides a meeting point for musicians from across Grey-Bruce and beyond to collaborate, perform, and learn with local and guest artists. Now in it's third season, the festival features concerts, workshops, lessons and for musicians of all ages and abilities, and explores classical, folk, and popular music for orchestral instruments. Special guests this summer include the Janus Quartet, who are award winning students from the University of Guadalajara, Mexico.

Summer 2017 will offer two exciting new programs at Orchestra North: A half day beginner strings program will provide a fun introduction to playing in orchestra, and our community winds program for advanced woodwind players who would like to experience the challenges and rewards or Orchestral music. Orchestra North is generously supported by Community Foundation Grey Bruce, and our partners at the Georgian Bay Symphony, Sweetwater Music Festival, and Harmony Centre Owen Sound.
