The Owen Sound District Seconday School is getting its dance on.
The OSDSS Dance Program has had a busy, but successful week. On Tuesday morning, approximately 60 OSDSS dance students performed their showcase dances at East Ridge Community School in front of an audience of grade 6-8 students from schools across the Bluewater board.
After the performance, the students were involved in a high-energy clinic where the dance students taught the elementary students a fast-paced hip-hop routine. The kids were excited, energized and looking forward to their future options at OSDSS.
On Wednesday, the dance program completed their culminating task, "Soundtracks Dance Showcase". They performed multiple pieces, which they choreographed on their own, as well as other numbers choreographed by teacher Lyndsay Brooks. The hour and a half long show highlighted pieces all choreographed to music from movie or TV soundtracks.
The second annual show was a huge success, and earned positive feedback from the over 200 community members in attendance.
