The visual arts event ART WALK! offers Owen Sound residents and visitors a glimpse into the dynamic visual art-making environment in and around "Corkscrew City." Eight art destinations within the downtown core will showcase an impressive array of contemporary and traditional fine art, craft and design, featuring everything from woodworking, jewelry, ceramics, fabric art and photography to paper- and text-based art, along with a fine representation of popular, long-established mediums like oil, watercolour and acrylic. There will be live painting demonstrations, artist talks, guided tours, and a Multicultural Arts Festival at Division Street United Church.
Gallery de Boer will be offering framing and painting demonstrations, the latter of which will feature landscape painter Chris Morton. Chris's exhibition "Luminosity" has been garnering praise for several weeks now. Art Walk! will be the last opportunity to see this exhibition as it closes June 23 at the end of day.
In addition to Gallery de Boer, participating galleries include 2nd Avenue Gallery, Grey Gallery, Intersections Wood Gallery & Studio, Owen Sound Artists' Co-op, Santa Fe Gallery and the Tom Thomson Art Gallery.
