Even if you like to develop your characters on the fly while writing your stories, it's good to have some idea of who you're taking to that place with you. Character development helps you understand who it is you're dealing with, but also what motivates and inspires them, why they hold certain beliefs, and how they behave in different situations. The insights uncovered in character development exercises can also reveal to you ways to move your plot forward and other opportunities for making your story richer, more compelling and ultimately more successful.
In this interactive and collaborative two-hour workshop, writer Miranda Miller will walk participants through character development step-by-step. Together, we'll tackle each author's desired character and resolve their most troublesome or persistent flaws. Authors will leave with a better understanding of their character and a roadmap to developing more fascinating characters in future.
