booksFor the 33rd year, the Authors' Open House will take place 11-2 on Saturday December 8. Hosted by The Ginger Press in downtown Owen Sound, this special event will feature dozens of local authors who will be on hand to discuss books and publishing. The Annual Authors' Open House has become an important literary tradition in the Grey Bruce community, by providing the opportunity for local writers and readers to connect. Fiction, non-fiction, children's books, nature guides and more will be available.

Authors in attendance this year will include George Auer (The Day the Ravebeek Ran Grey), David Beverly-Foster (Walking Home: From the Grand to the Saugeen Watershed), Cathy Hird (Between Our Steps: Reflections on a Spiritual Journey), Alison Leonard (Vikings: Pocket Museum), Kat McNichol (Dreamers Creative Writing magazine), Richard-Yves Sitoski (downmarket oldies FM station blues), Richard Thomas (Saints & Sinners), Jesse Wilkinson (Europe) and many others.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to meet the authors, learn about their books, get autographed copies for everyone on your gift list and enjoy excellent munchies from our kitchen," says Maryann Thomas, owner of The Ginger Press. "Our focus here is always on local books and the Authors' Open House is an excellent opportunity to celebrate the writers who are making them happen."

The Ginger Press is located at 848 2nd Avenue East in downtown Owen Sound. Phone (519) 376-4233 or email [email protected] for more information.
