The Durham Art Gallery is excited to announce that applications are currently being accepted for the Fallis Scholarship for the Arts. The Durham Art Gallery established the scholarship out of a desire to cultivate art and artists throughout Grey-Bruce. Now in its second year, this $3,000 scholarship aims to assist a young local artist in their post-secondary school dreams, by alleviating some of their financial burdens through a scholarship award.
A jury of industry professionals will select a Grey-Bruce student who has met all the requirements to be awarded this year’s Fallis Scholarship for the Arts. David Sugarman, President of the gallery board says that, “The Gallery wants to give back to our incredible and supportive community; as well as fertilize and encourage the next crop of locally-raised artists!”
The Durham Art Gallery encourages all students who qualify to apply. Applicants must be from Grey-Bruce and have been accepted or are enrolled in an arts program at a post-secondary institution. The program may be at a college, university or a recognized art academy. The deadline for complete submissions is Friday July 26, 2019.
