The City of Owen Sound Public Works will be restricting traffic on 10th Street West from 1st Avenue East to 2nd Avenue West to one lane in each direction for watermain repairs. This temporary lane closure will be in effect until later in the week.
Traffic can use 9th Street West hill to avoid 10th Street West congestion until the watermain repairs are completed.
The Crosstown Bus route will be temporarily altered beginning Wednesday April 6, 2015, due to the closure of 8th Street East between 4th Avenue East and 8th Avenue East .
8th Street East will be closed to through traffic between 4th Avenue East and 8th Avenue East from April 6, 2015 until the fall for reconstruction. In order to avoid the construction, the Crosstown bus will detour south on 8th Avenue East, west on 6th Street East, north on 4th Avenue East and then back on to the normal route to the Transit Terminal.
No additional stops will be included on the detour route.

Most of the "sexier" news from council has already been covered on The Hub – the passionate deputations by Aly Boltman about Branningham Grove, the launch of Mix Well, an anthology of local poetry, and the details of water billing for those whose water service was interrupted by frozen pipes and mains.
Other subjects were covered in the course of Monday night's meeting, chaired by Deputy Mayor Arlene Wright in the absence of Mayor Ian Boddy who was out on the sick list.
City Council approved staff principles for water and wastewater invoicing of properties affected by the freezing of water services over the past few months.
"We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding during the past few months. It is amazing how much our community has been very supportive of each other through this ordeal. The staff from the Water Division have been doing an exceptional job and are continuing to work as quick as possible to have the balance of the frozen services restored to all properties", said Mayor Ian Boddy. "We applaud their efforts!"
The invoicing principles are as follows:
The City of Owen Sound Public Works will be closing 10th Street West from 2nd Avenue West to 9th Avenue West in both directions for watermain repairs. The overnight closure will begin Tuesday, March 31st at 7p.m. until 7a.m., and resume Wednesday, April 1st at 7 p.m. until 7a.m. Thursday, April 2.
The closure on 10th Street West is as follows:

· 7th Avenue West to 8th Avenue West – Closed to All Traffic
· 8th Avenue West to 9th Avenue West – Local Traffic Only.
