I write this, enquiring as to why the gate affording access to St. George’s Park has been chained shut for over a week now. This gate is located at the end of 11th. St. E. behind St. George's church. It provides a route through to the steps rising to Victoria Park and also gives access to the C.M.H.A gardens and a labyrinth.
A letter from a resident about Air BnB-type houses in residential neighbourhoods was included in Monday night's Council agenda package. If you knew the gate to the north of St. George's Church was locked and your destination were anywhere north and east from that church at 10th Street East and 4th Ave. you'd start from the green space among the trees and flowers. There are some stepping stones to show the way, but there is no sidewalk east of St. George's ...

After a few months in his lovely new apartment in Owen Sound, 89 year old Frank Barningham has developed a pleasant routine. Some peaceful moments at the labyrinth outside his back gate, a walk around the community gardens and through the 11th St gate by St. George's on his way to the library, or downtown errands. He usually walks back along the harbour and back in his front door at the Strathcona Apartments.
