As snow continues to fall this winter, the City would like to remind the public about the guidelines for snowmobile usage within the City of Owen Sound.

As per the City’s Operation of Motorized Snow Vehicles By-law No. 1976-027 and the City’s Parks By-law No. 1992-014, the following regulations apply to snowmobiles:

No person shall operate a snowmobile:

· In any park or in any area of any park except those areas of parks designated by the City as outlined on this trail map.

A detailed map displaying areas where snowmobile usage is permitted on City streets is available on the City’s website.

There are more than 3,600 km of groomed trails in the region. Four established trails pass through Owen Sound: the Bruce Peninsula Tour (193 km), the Queen’s Bush Tour (185 km), the Saugeen River Tour (263 km), Walter’s Falls Tour (142 km). Complete trail routes are available on the District 9 OSFC website.
