The City of Owen Sound will be offering Pop Up Pickleball in the River District as a way to create an engaging space and increase recreation opportunities.
The Pickleball courts located in the City Hall Parking Lot will be available for use at no charge. Hours of operation will be Monday-Friday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday’s from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Rackets and balls will be available for those players who do not have their own equipment. Use of the Pickleball courts will be at the discretion of the participants. Advanced booking will not be available for the courts or equipment.
Parking will not be available in the City Hall parking lot during these times. Participants and visitors to the River District are asked to park at other municipal lots or make use of street parking. On-street complimentary parking is available for up to two hours while municipal lots are five hours.
Pickleball is a low-impact recreational activity that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities. The installation of the courts allow broader access to recreational opportunities within the City while providing an engaging experience for visitors to the River District.
