With winter weather here to stay, the City of Owen Sound has released "Know our Plan for Snow," your guide to the city's winter control program.
With an average of more than 130 inches of snow each year, Owen Sound receives more snowfall than any other municipality in Ontario.
The City of Owen Sound has 282 lane kilometres of streets and 105 kilometres of sidewalks to maintain and operates three shifts in the winter months, providing 24/7 winter control services.
The new Know our Plan for Snow information package provides details on Minimum Maintenance Standards, plowing priorities, and the nature and use of significant weather events, as well as secondary issues like driveways, overnight parking, and waste pickup.
You can find the Know our Plan for Snow guide on the city's website at www.owensound.ca/wintercontrol
