2022 City Election

Travis Dodd has announced that he will be seeking re-election in the upcoming 2022 municipal election. Dodd has been a city councillor for the past eight years.

“It is time that we regroup and focus on what makes Owen Sound great, as well as acknowledge areas that require improvements. The City needs to continue placing an emphasis on strategic and sustainable growth, while remaining diligent of the fiscal restraints the municipality is currently facing. We must continue to recognize our prosperous sectors and aim our initiatives to support them in order to retain and attract businesses and residents,” said Dodd in a media release.

“I said this four years ago, and I will say it again. We need to continue to look at all opportunities of working with our municipal neighbours and the County regarding services to generate efficiencies and cost savings for our residents when they make sense,” Dodd noted. “There will be some new faces at the Council table this year and I feel with my past experience, and my ability for consensus building that it will be beneficial for the new term."

Dodd  has been on City Council since 2014 and is the current Chair of the City’s Community Development, Tourism and Culture Advisory committee as well as the Chair of Community Services committee and the past Chair of the Corporate Services committee.

Dodd is a Wealth Advisor for a local investment firm and says he often walks with his wife Alexa and their two Australian Shepherds around the Farmer’s Market and Harrison Park.
