Heavy snow squalls are expected to hit the City over the next 24 to 48 hours resulting in accumulations of 50 to 60cm in some areas.
High winds will result in blowing and drifting conditions.
The City's Public Works Department has seven plows and four sidewalk plows. All equipment is out at the present time and will stay out as long as the storm persists.
Drivers are reminded to drive according to the conditions. The Public Works Department is asking for the public's cooperation in giving plows the time to do their work. Please stay at least 50 metres behind snow clearing equipment and do not pass the plows. Also, refrain from parking on the streets to enable the snow clearing equipment to service areas more quickly.
