The City of Owen Sound is pleased to host a visit by the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, on Friday, June 9, 2017.
As Vice-Regal, the Lieutenant Governor is the representative of Her Majesty The Queen in Ontario. In Her Honour's community role, she attends hundreds of events throughout Ontario each year. Owen Sound is proud to be chosen as one of those communities.
During the Lieutenant Governor's visit to the area, Her Honour will be joining Mayor Ian Boddy at the 100th Anniversary celebration of the air raid for which Billy Bishop received the Victoria Cross. The celebration will be held at the Billy Bishop Home and Museum and will commence at approximately 2:40 PM. The media and the public are invited to share in this celebration.
Extra parking will be available at Central Westside United Church on the corner of 10th Street and 3rd Avenue West from 2 – 5 PM.
