The City of Owen Sound has awarded the 3rd Avenue East/Grey Road 15 Phase II reconstruction project to Bridge Excavating Limited. Construction will commence in the beginning of June 2018. Construction activities are expected to be completed in the Fall of 2018. The work will generally include:

§ Reconstruction of approximately 440m of roadway including curb and sidewalk;

§ Replacement of approximately 235m of existing sanitary sewer and sanitary services to the property line;

§ Replacement of approximately 435m of existing watermain and water services to the property line;

§ Installation of approximately 260m of storm sewer including catch basins and maintenance structures; and

§ Restoration of all disturbed areas, including sidewalk, curb, driveways and all surface elements within the boulevard.

3rd Avenue East will be closed to through traffic from 18th Street East (front of Bayshore Community Centre) to East Bayshore Road starting in June 2018. Local access shall be maintained to affected properties and emergency response vehicles at all times. The detour route will be via 9th Avenue East as indicated on the attached plan.

Access to the north driveway of the Bayshore Community Centre parking lot will remain accessible through majority of the construction duration.
