Several key phases of the roadway and multi-purpose trail construction will be taking place over the next two weeks.
Beginning today, Wednesday, May 30th, contractors will begin paving the roadway of Harrison Park. There will be a small window of time where vehicles will not be able to pass through the middle section of the roadway due to the amount of room required to operate the equipment. Normal traffic delays will be expected for paving of the North and South entrances.
The multi-purpose trail that will connect 2nd Avenue East at the Harrison Park entrance will be closed beginning Monday, June 4th for approximately 5 days, weather permitting to allow for construction of the path base, drainage and paving.
During the construction phase of the multi-purpose trail, access to the trail be closed to the public and appropriate signage will be placed on-site to inform park users, however, the trail will be open on evenings and weekends. Park users should not use the roadway for foot or bicycle access due to safety concerns and are encouraged to use the East Side fitness trail via 5th Avenue East to access the park.
