A SPOOK-TACULAR new event is coming to downtown Owen Sound. The Owen Sound DIA believes that children should have the opportunity to wear their costume more than once so they have created a fun, Halloween-themed event geared completely towards children in the community.
This Saturday, October 27th from 10 am to 1 pm, participating merchants in downtown Owen Sound will be opening their doors and offering treats to costumed kiddies and some businesses will be offering a fun activity as well. Orange and black balloons will mark those merchants who will be taking part and the presence of a teal balloon indicates that allergy free treats will be available.
A full list of participating merchants can be found on the OSDIA website located at www.downtownowensound.ca
Also, the OSDIA in collaboration with the Owen Sound Artist’s Co-op invites children to take part in a pumpkin painting activity at The Workshop located at 948 Second Avenue East (right beside the Artists’ Co-op). This event is free and will be available while pumpkin supplies last.
Plus, there will be $5 face painting by Laura Lee Face Painting at the Owen Sound DIA office at 854 Second Avenue East along with a free colouring contest. Contest entries will be posted on the OSDIA window and prizes will be awarded.
Participants are also invited to check out all the creepy store windows while they are out trick-or-treating. The public is welcome to cast their vote for their favourite window by picking up a paper ballot at the OSDIA office.
Costumes are encouraged for this fun event. Everyone is welcome.
This event is sponsored by the Owen Sound DIA and the businesses of downtown Owen Sound.
