The City of Owen Sound, in partnership with the YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce regrets to inform the public that swimming at the YMCA during the annual New Year’s Eve Party this evening will not be available.
The water distribution system has experienced a mechanical error, which unfortunately cannot be remedied prior to this evening’s event. The City of Owen Sound and YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce apologize for this inconvenience to those planning to attend.
The are still plenty of activities for families to enjoy between the hours of 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
Activities include skating, playtime in the gym, entertainment by Klash the Clown, a dance zone, cookie decorating, games, crafts, and an area to decorate wooden cars, then race them down the Scouts’ racetrack.
The evening celebrations will conclude with a countdown and massive balloon drop at 6:30 PM. Just prior to the balloon drop, Big Brothers Big Sisters Owen Sound will pull the winning ticket in their WestJet Holiday Raffle, for two flights to anywhere in the world WestJet flies. To find out where raffle tickets can be purchased, and for a full schedule of the evening’s events, visit www.OwenSound.ca/NewYearsEve.
Food will be available for purchase at the New Year’s Eve event, and proceeds will support the Owen Sound Skating Club. Sisters Café will also be open, offering festive ‘mocktails’ for the alcohol-free celebrations. This event is generously supported by Nicol Insurance, Elston Watt Barristers & Solicitors, and All Things T. Please remember the Julie McArthur Regional Rec Centre is a Nut-Aware Facility. Please avoid bringing nuts or nut products into the building. Parents must accompany children in the gymnasium.
