canada dayOwen Sound will celebrate Canada Day with tons of family entertainment, games and attractions throughout the day, followed by an outstanding evening music program and spectacular fireworks display over the bay on Monday, July 1st.

Activities begin at 4:00 PM, with plenty happening Monday to engage kids of all ages. Scouts Canada will have their race track on site, in which kids can design, build and race wooden cars on a 45’ track. Dickie Bird will take to the amphitheatre stage to bring a high-energy, fun-filled show for all ages. Dickie Bird comes equipped to entertain with an ample supply of up-beat music, a suitcase full of magic tricks and amazing gizmos like the Bubble Machine. Plus, three up-close shows at 4:30, 6:30 and 8:30 PM will give audiences a chance to be charmed by the talented canine athletes from Four Paws Flying Entertainment. The performance includes World Champion skilled disc catching dogs, super fast agility dogs, adorably talented trick dogs and high flying jumping dogs of all shapes and sizes and breeds. Be sure to stay after the show to meet the dogs and talk to the trainers!

Kids and families are invited to also check out KUGO FX for Airbrush Tattoos and Face-painting, along with pony rides from Glendale Farms.

Talents will be shared from the Owen Sound City Band at 5:00 PM, Beggars Road at 6:00 PM, greetings from local dignitaries at 7:30 PM, and musical headliner the Great Canadian Dueling Pianos will create musical memories for all, beginning at 7:45 PM. The night caps off with a spectacular display of fireworks over the bay beginning at 10:00 PM. Boaters are reminded to stay at least 175 m away from the fireworks launch site to provide a safe fallout area.

Additional vendors will be on site throughout the day including; Handmade With Love, Tom Thomson Art Gallery, You Too Blankets & Accessories, Thistledown Glassworks, New Deals Buy & Sell Inc., Tot's Tie Dye, Owen Sound Tourism and Plan A Healthcare Staffing Solutions. Food and drinks are available for purchase from: Just a Cup, Heavenly Dreams Ice Cream Inc, Top-Dog, Big Bay General Store, Donut Diner and Fired Up at Grilled in Action. There will be an ATM on site.
