City Parks & Open Space staff will be working on Thursday, September 19^th and Tuesday, September 24^th to install the Noma Lights in the 700, 800, 900 and 1000 blocks of 2nd Avenue East. As a result, 2^nd Avenue East will be closed the following times:

NOTE: Formerly announced as Wednesday, September 18^th and Thursday, September 19^{th the following is an update.}

2^nd Avenue East will be closed the following times, Thursday, September 19^th the 900 and 800 blocks of 2^nd Avenue East will be closed from 6:30am to 12:00pm. 8^th and 9^th Streets will remain open. The 700 Block of 2^nd Avenue East will be closed from 12:30pm to 2:30pm. 7^th and 8^th Streets will remain open.

On Tuesday, September 24^th: the 1000 block of 2^nd Avenue East will be closed from 6:30am – 10:00am. 10^th and 11^th Streets will remain open.

City staff will work as efficiently as possible to ensure these historic lights are up in a timely manner and disruption to downtown traffic and businesses is kept to a minimum.

The City of Owen Sound and Festival of Northern Lights appreciates your patience during this installation. As soon as the installation is completed, 2^nd Avenue East will be re-opened.

Customers in the downtown are encouraged to utilize the complimentary 5-hour parking in long- term lots during this service interruption. 

The installation of the Noma Lights is being completed earlier in the year as to not cause further disruptions during the 10^th Street Bridge Closure, which is slated to begin Monday, September 23^rd.
