Closure of the 10th Street Bridge will not occur the week of September 23, 2019. Acquisition of permits for construction signage has caused this delay. Anticipated closure of the 10th Street Bridge is Wednesday, October 2, 2019.
All other project details remain the same.
The rerouted transit routes will begin on Monday, September 23rd as scheduled.
The detour routes, which will begin on the anticipated closure day of Wednesday, October 2nd remain as follows:
- Eastbound traffic will be redirected at 10th Street and 2nd Avenue West southerly to 8th Street, along 8th Street to 3rd Avenue East, northbound to 10th Street East.
- Westbound traffic will be redirected at 10th Street and 3rd Avenue East southerly towards 9th Street, along 9th Street to 2nd Avenue West, northbound to 10th Street West.
Parking has been removed along sections of 8th Street and 9th Street to create an additional westbound lane on 9th Street and eastbound lane on 8th Street. Additional parking has been created in the curb lanes along 10th Street East between 2nd Avenue East and 3rd Avenue East.
Please leave yourself extra time travelling through the downtown. Pedestrian access will be maintained to all businesses in the downtown during the construction and we hope you will support these businesses during this reconstruction of the bridge.
