In order to address safety issues associated with the traffic at 8th Street and the north leg of 3rd Avenue West, the following improvements have been completed today:

• Installation of a new “STOP” sign on 8th Street West at the intersection of 3rd Avenue West – north leg for west bound traffic;

• Installation of “ALL WAY” tab signs on all legs of the intersection below the stop sign;

• Installation of a “STOP AHEAD” sign on 3rd Avenue West north of the intersection reminding drivers to stop;

• Installation of “NEW”/Sunburst signage at the intersection as per Ontario Traffic Manual Book 6 – Warning Signs.

Later this year when weather allows upgraded paint markings for pedestrian crosswalk will improve the safety of pedestrians and motorists.
