Owen Sound City Staff is proposing two Drive-In Movie Nights to take place on Fridays in late August and early September. It is proposed that this event take place in the north parking lot of the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre. Based on vehicle spacing recommendations from Public Health, the event will be able to accommodate 100 vehicles.
In addition to vehicles, staff are proposing for those who may want to ride a bike or walk that an area be designated for lawn chairs, with circles marked out on grass for social distancing, in consultation with Public Health. The event will be free, however people wishing to attend will be required to reserve their “ticket” online prior to the event as a means of ensuring we do not exceed capacity. Volunteers and security will be on site to check tickets and ensure people are maintaining proper physical distancing, with one parking space required between each vehicle.
Staff is also proposing three Harbour Nights concerts at Kelso Beach Amphitheatre starting next month, with music also broadcast out to the harbour for enjoyment from the water.
