toiletThe washrooms at the West Side Boat Launch have re-opened after an emergency repair was completed on the exterior sewer line.

The City wishes to remind the public that wipes clog pipes. To avoid sewer backups in your home and municipal sewer pipes and pumps, please dispose of the following items in the trash, not the toilet:

Disinfecting wipes;
Baby wipes;
Disposable face coverings;
Towelletes;
Paper towels; and
Facial tissues.
Any wipe that claims to be “flushable” is not, and needs to be disposed of in the garbage.

Continuous cleaning of clogged pipes, manholes and sewer mains due to improperly disposed of items costs the City upwards of $60,000 annually.

The washrooms at the West Side Boat Launch were renovated in early 2020 to improve accessibility for users and the interior improvements were not impacted by the sewer line break.
