Like any household our councillors' job is to wisely balance our finances.

Council would be negligent if they didn’t request quotes as widely as possible for all our needs.

They know there is major spending required for our bridges, roads, landfills, libraries and water and sewage systems.

West Grey has people moving here.

There are new business, houses, subdivisions, social and emergency services that rely on this infrastructure.

To ignore financial realities means closing more bridges or turning away new families and development.

Council is fully aware of these realities and very wisely voted to request a quote for our policing requirements.

This foresight is what we pay our councillors for and council's action would garner a perfect mark on any ‘Value for Money Audit'.

Sincerely,

Your neighbours who suggest you go further than just calling your councillors on this matter, invite them over for tea, take them out for lunch, heck offer to stack their firewood. They deserve it.
