Please attend a meeting to help Friends of Owen Sound select strong candidates for City Council who will run hard and effectively - and win - in the October 24 election.
Election Readiness Meeting
Wednesday, June 29 - 7:00 pm
Harmony Centre, Owen Sound
You should be at this meeting - and help elect strong, community-minded councillors:
IF … you believe in active respect for all - a welcoming, safe and supportive city for women, immigrants, all religions, the Indigenous community and people of colour and all sexual orientations;
IF … you are aware that Owen Sound has serious levels of poverty and homelessness, and mental health and drug addiction problems that are not adequately addressed;
IF … you want the city to take action to reduce our municipal carbon footprint and mitigate the impacts of climate change;
IF … you are concerned that far too many stores on our downtown streets are sadly empty, giving they city a poor, almost derelict look on some blocks;
IF … in short, you have felt frustrated over the years that our fine, little city could be much better if only City Council was more creative, energetic and responsive to residents’ ideas.
All are welcome on Wednesday to help us find good candidates, discuss our policy priorities and plan for strong campaigns that take off right after Labour Day. If you’re interested but can’t attend and want to be on our mailing list, please contact Michael Craig <[email protected]>; or 519-375-7925
