When I was a youngster, I thought fireworks were fantastic and I could hardly wait for the times when we would have them. As I've aged and am now aware of the damage caused to those who do not comprehend what is happening, how they panic and run and are injured, I have changed my position.
I would challenge any of you who want fireworks to stand in a field with animals and watch what happens. Their fears and injuries cannot be justified.
Please, if you are going to purchase fireworks, get the required permits, consider purchasing "quiet fireworks" which are less noisy, and show some compassion and consideration rather than telling others with frightened animals to "suck it up".
Would this not be a helpful resolution to making things better and yet still bring enjoyment? And no, I'm not being a 'Karen', I am carin' for all forms of life.
Respectfully,
Pam Wilson
