It has been such a privilege to meet and speak with so many Owen Sound residents over the course of this municipal election campaign. I will carry your interests and your concerns with me, and speak to them while I continue to volunteer on the operations committee.
Thank you to all who demonstrated your support, trusting that I would represent you faithfully. While I won't be representing the citizens of Owen Sound on Council this coming term as I had hoped, I commit to continuing my work as an engaged citizen and volunteer: holding Council to account and advocating for positive and progressive change – especially in the areas of climate change, business opportunities and growth, and encouraging youth and women in trades.
I offer hearty congratulations to those who were elected and wish them well in the stewardship of our community.
This is a wonderful city with so much to offer but it's not without its problems. I'm encouraged by the commitment of so many – those who ran in this election and the citizens who expressed their interest by voting – and believe strongly that we can build on this energy by working together to help make our community the best it can be. And I'm "all in" for that!
