One thing about the bed and breakfast business is that you never know who you're going to get next (something like a box of chocolates). Currently we are hosting a mother-daughter team who have set themselves a goal of raising $20,000 dollars for cancer research. To attract attention to their cause, they have committed to walking 500 kilometres of the Bruce Trail during the month of August. It is now almost the middle of the month and they are well on their way to achieving that goal. Of course my wife Cecilie is always ready to help a worthy cause and in fact we are both a little excited to be a part of their effort by hosting them for two nights.

Lynn Amatuzio (the mother) in fact walked this same route 20 years ago - solo. At that time she walked to raise $10,000 and succeeded. That must be a story in itself! This time however she is being accompanied by her 14 year old daughter, Mia. They expect to reach Tobermory on August 31st.

When cancer begins to affect friends and family in an unseemly manner it can be somewhat overwhelming. Lynn and Mia are tackling these feelings head on by doing something about it. They are to be congratulated.

The name of their event is "2018 Hike For Cancer Research".
